/The “Financial Mathematics” training, to be organized in collaboration with the Department of Economics and Finance and the Economics and Finance Student Club, aims to help students understand the fundamental mathematical approaches and calculation methods used in the field of finance, and to evaluate this knowledge beyond the theoretical level through practical application. In today’s financial world, many core topics such as interest calculations, discounting methods, present value and future value analyses, annuities, investment decisions, borrowing costs, and the valuation of financial instruments require a strong foundation in financial mathematics. In this respect, the training offers important content designed both to strengthen students’ academic background and to enhance their professional competencies. Financial mathematics is not only a field that provides numerical calculation skills, but also a fundamental discipline that enables financial decision-making processes to be evaluated in a more conscious, systematic, and analytical way. Within this scope, the training is intended to focus primarily on the logic and foundations of financial calculations, especially the concept of the time value of money, while also introducing students to the basic calculation structures they may encounter in areas such as banking, investment, credit, insurance, corporate finance, and capital markets. In this way, it is expected that students will improve their ability to interpret financial data, evaluate numerical results together with their economic meanings, and analyze financial decision-making mechanisms on a stronger basis. The training will also contribute to students’ ability to reconsider the theoretical knowledge they encounter in their courses from a more practical perspective. Particularly for students of economics and finance, knowledge of financial mathematics is an important area of competence not only for academic success, but also for gaining a competitive advantage in internships, job applications, professional examinations, and future career development. Accordingly, the training aims to strengthen students’ quantitative thinking skills, enhance their financial analysis capacity, and support them in preparing more effectively for the fields in which they may specialize in the future. The training will be delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bülent İlhan and will be held on May 8, 2026 and May 15, 2026, between 11:00 and 13:00. The program, which will consist of two sessions, has been structured in a way that allows students to approach the subject gradually and comprehensively. The training will take place in J Block, Classroom 360, and the quota is limited to 80 participants. At the end of the program, students who attend all sessions will be awarded a certificate of participation. In this respect, the training can be regarded as a qualified learning opportunity that contributes both to students’ knowledge levels and to their academic and professional development processes
